For a boat trip, Cassis is the ideal starting point for the calanques. Board in Cassis on the boat of your choice: a motorboat such as the White Shark 225 for small groups of 2 to 6 people, or a sailboat, catamaran or classic sailboat for larger groups: our whole fleet can leave from Cassis. Head for the calanques of En-Vau and Port-Pin, the two most beautiful in Cassis, and the highest sea cliffs in Europe, at Cap Canaille.
All our boat trips in Cassis are private and tailor-made: the options below are examples. Tell us what you would like, and we adapt the times, route and programme.
From a morning swim in calm water to dinner under the stars: choose your option, and we adapt it to your group.

Above 6 people, we offer a sailboat, a catamaran or a classic sailboat departing from Cassis, on quotation: the Cassis departure is then added to the price of the trip from Marseille. For comparison, our full day at sea from Marseille starts at €790 for a sailboat for up to 10 people.
The programme adapts to the weather and the wind of the day, in agreement with your skipper, while respecting the Calanques National Park.
Between Marseille and La Ciotat, the Cassis coastline brings together some of the most beautiful scenery in the Calanques National Park. A three-hour boat trip already shows you the essentials; a full day lets you go further and swim more often.
The closest to the port of Cassis, long and narrow, a former stone quarry. It shelters a marina and mooring buoys for visiting boaters.
A small pebble beach shaded by pine trees, at the end of a calanque with turquoise water. The entrance is closed to motorboats: you admire it from the sea.
The most spectacular, between limestone needles and vertical cliffs. It is also closed to motorboats: the skipper takes you to its entrance to take it in.
Further west, huge cliffs that you can only really see from the sea, and the calanque of L’Oule, wild and rarely visited.
East of the port, among the highest sea cliffs in France. Its ochre and red layers glow at sunset.
Opposite La Ciotat, a wooded island with crystal-clear water, perfect for a swim on a full-day trip.
The route is decided with your skipper on the day, depending on the wind and the sea. A three-hour trip usually lets you follow Port-Miou, Port-Pin and En-Vau with a swim at anchor; the sunset trip favours Cap Canaille, lit by the setting sun; the full day lets you combine the calanques to the west and Île Verte to the east, with lunch at anchor. Tell us what appeals to you: cliffs, swimming, snorkelling or simply relaxing, and we build the programme around it.
The calanques of Cassis are at the heart of the National Park: sailing here comes with a few rules that your skipper knows by heart and applies for you.
All the answers about the regulations are in our boat trip FAQ and on our eco-friendly sailing page.
In the morning, the sea is often calmer and the calanques still empty. It is the ideal time for swimming and snorkelling in clear water, before the tour boats arrive.
In the late afternoon, the heat eases and the sun sinks over Cap Canaille. The sunset trip is our favourite option in Cassis: the cliffs turn red, drinks are served at anchor, then you return to port as night falls.
From June to September, the water is warm and swimming is part of every trip: book several weeks ahead for July and August. In May, June and September, the calanques are quieter and the light is superb. When the mistral blows, the skipper chooses the most sheltered waters; check the marine weather in Cassis before your trip.
In summer, the centre of Cassis is very busy and parking near the port is limited. Allow plenty of time: the car parks at the entrance to the town are linked to the centre by a shuttle bus, so you avoid hunting for a space at the last minute. The exact meeting point at the port is given to you when you book.
Remember to bring a swimsuit, a towel, non-aerosol sunscreen and a windbreaker for the way back. The skipper provides life jackets and gives a safety briefing before departure. For the safety rules, see our safety at sea in Marseille and Cassis page.
In season, the most famous calanques draw big crowds. For us, the magic of a day at sea is freedom: an anchorage all to yourselves, crystal-clear water, time to swim, dive and enjoy, with nobody around.
From our private port in L’Estaque, head for the Frioul islands (Pomègues, Ratonneau) or the Côte Bleue: wild, colourful coves where you are often on your own, and a coastline that always offers an anchorage sheltered from the wind.
From the port of Cassis. The exact meeting point is given to you when you book.
All our boats can leave from Cassis: from the White Shark 225 motorboat, ideal for 2 to 6 people with its skipper, to sailboats, catamarans and classic sailboats for larger groups. The choice depends mainly on the size of your group and your budget.
Yes, and that is our skipper’s advice. From our private port in L’Estaque, with secure parking, we sail to the Frioul islands and the Côte Bleue: quiet coves, away from the crowds, and always an anchorage sheltered from the wind. Our whole fleet is available there, at lower prices.
No. A professional skipper is always on board and takes care of sailing and safety.
En-Vau and Port-Pin, the two most beautiful calanques in Cassis, as well as the cliffs of Cap Canaille. The route is adapted to the day’s weather and the length of your trip.
The skipper decides whether the trip goes ahead depending on conditions. If it is cancelled because of the weather, the trip is postponed or refunded in line with our terms and conditions of sale.
Not by motorboat: the calanques of En-Vau and Port-Pin are closed to motor vessels under the National Park regulations. The skipper takes you to their entrance, and you swim at anchor in a nearby cove.
From 2 to 6 people on board the White Shark 225 with its skipper. For a larger group, we offer a sailboat, a catamaran such as IA Orana or a classic sailboat departing from Cassis, on quotation.
In July and August, several weeks ahead, especially for sunsets and weekends. Off season, a few days are often enough.
Yes, with a gift voucher for any amount, valid for 12 months and redeemable against all our trips, including those departing from Cassis.
Yes. Life jackets for every size are on board. Tell us the children’s ages when you book: the skipper adapts the speed and chooses easy anchorages for swimming.
Yes, masks and snorkels are on board. The rocky seabed near the cliffs and around Île Verte is very rich. In the National Park, you observe without taking anything and without touching the posidonia seagrass.
Sometimes, depending on the National Park rules and the season. From 1 June to 30 September, access to the hills depends on the fire risk and landing is forbidden in some areas. The skipper checks the situation on the day; swimming from the boat is always possible.
The private boat, the professional skipper, fuel, life jackets, masks and snorkels. Drinks are included in the options that say so, and dinner in the evening option. Other meals and drinks can be ordered from our partner caterer.
