Sailing areas

Boat rental Marseille: where to sail

Each boat in the catalogue shows the areas where it sails: use the « Sailing area » filter to find them.

Marseille bay and Frioul

Twenty minutes from Port Corbières, the Frioul islands offer turquoise coves, the Château d’If and anchorages sheltered from the mistral. It is the ideal destination for a first boat rental in Marseille, for a day or a night at anchor.

Côte Bleue

Between L’Estaque and Carry-le-Rouet, the Côte Bleue lines up wild coves, railway viaducts and small fishing harbours. Quieter than the Calanques, it is sheltered in easterly winds and perfect for a family sailboat rental in Marseille.

Calanques and Cassis

Sormiou, Morgiou, En-Vau, Port-Pin: the Calanques are best discovered from the sea, respecting the National Park. All our boats can leave from Cassis on request, and our White Shark is based there all year round.

La Ciotat and the Var

Beyond Cap Canaille, La Ciotat, the Île Verte, Bandol, Porquerolles and the Golden Isles are one or two days’ sailing away. It is the classic one-week catamaran cruise from Marseille.

Corsica, Sardinia, Balearics

For experienced crews or with a skipper, the long crossing to Corsica, Sardinia or the Balearics is planned with our distance calculator. We can deliver the boat one way to save you time.

Prices

Boat rental Marseille: prices

On each card, the price shows the starting point of the boat rental. For bareboat charters, it is the price per day or per week off-season; the full price list by season, with discounts for longer rentals, is on the boat’s page. For private days at sea, the price includes the professional skipper, the fuel for the trip, the paddleboard and private access to the harbour.

A skipper, hostess or chef can be added to cruises. End-of-rental cleaning, bed linen and a motorised tender are offered depending on the boat. All prices are shown in euros, all taxes included, with no hidden fees: your quote lists every line.

A bareboat charter requires an experienced skipper and a crew able to assist; that is why every request goes through the sailing CV. A rental with a skipper, on the other hand, requires no experience at all: the skipper chooses the anchorages according to the day’s wind, prepares the boat and lets you enjoy swimming, paddleboarding and lunch on board.

For a sailboat rental in Marseille, an 11-metre boat is enough for two couples; for a family or a group of friends, a 12 to 13-metre catamaran offers four cabins and a bathroom for each. For an event with more than twenty guests, our great classic yachts, Belle Aventure and Saintam’, or several boats rafted together at anchor, welcome everyone.

Renting without a skipper: the sailing CV

To rent a boat without a skipper, you send us your sailing CV: licences, experience, recent sailing and crew. It guarantees that the boat leaves in good hands, and it is what allows owners to trust us with theirs.

Not enough experience yet? The skipper stays on board for the first day, or the whole cruise, and you take part in the manoeuvres.

Describe your boat in a few minutes: we check its documents and visit it, then it joins the catalogue. Full management by LOCVOILIER or managing the renters yourself: you choose.

Good to know

Boat rental Marseille: your questions

Sailboat rental Marseille or catamaran rental Marseille: how to choose?

A sailboat gives you the real feeling of sailing and costs less. A catamaran is more stable, roomier and more comfortable for a group or a family, with a bathroom for each cabin on most models. For a festive day or a group of more than ten people, the catamaran is often the best choice.

How do I know if a boat is available on my dates?

Enter your dates at the top of the catalogue: each boat shows « Available on your dates », « Availability to be confirmed » or its next free date, from our live schedule. Your request then goes out with the boat and dates already filled in, and we confirm everything in writing.

Can I rent a boat without a skipper in Marseille?

Yes, on the boats marked « Bareboat possible ». Before booking, you fill in your sailing CV: we check your experience and licences, and those of your crew. If your experience is not enough, we offer a professional skipper.

What is the difference between a day trip and a cruise?

A day trip is a private outing at sea with a skipper, from 10 am to 5 pm, or an evening. A cruise is a rental of several days with nights on board, with or without a skipper, to sail to the Côte Bleue, the Calanques, the Var, Corsica or the Balearic Islands.

Do the prices shown include the skipper?

« Full day » prices include the professional skipper. « Per day » or « per week » prices for bareboat charters cover the boat only, off-season; a skipper, hostess or chef can be added as options. Prices by season are shown on each boat’s page.

How much does a boat rental in Marseille cost?

A bareboat rental in Marseille starts at €299 per day off-season for a sailboat and €1,050 for a catamaran. A private day with a skipper starts at €990 for a sailboat and €1,490 for a catamaran, from 10 am to 5 pm, all taxes included. The exact price depends on the season, the length of the rental and the options.

Do I need a licence to rent a sailboat in Marseille?

To rent without a skipper, we ask for the boating licence suited to the boat and a sailing CV showing your experience as a skipper. With a skipper, no licence is needed: you enjoy the trip and can join in the manoeuvres if you like.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, for every bareboat rental: it is paid online before boarding and returned after the check-out inspection. The amount is shown on the boat’s page. No deposit is required for trips with a skipper.

When should I book a catamaran in Marseille?

For July and August, book in winter: catamarans go first. May, June and September bring calmer seas, quieter anchorages and lower prices, ideal for a first catamaran rental in Marseille.

What does a bareboat rental include?

The boat ready to sail with full safety equipment, the inspection and inventory at departure and return, and a detailed handover with our team: harbour manoeuvres, windlass, electronics and safety instructions. Fuel used, provisions and harbour fees during stopovers are at your expense.

Can we board in Cassis or La Ciotat?

Yes. The White Shark is based in Cassis, and all our sailboats and catamarans can pick you up in Cassis or La Ciotat. The supplement covers the sailing and skipper hours needed to reach the departure port; it is clearly shown on the quote.

How does the return of the boat work?

You come back to Port Corbières at the time set in the contract. We do the check-out inspection together, the fuel is checked, then the deposit is returned online if everything is in order. If anything happens at sea, our team can be reached on WhatsApp throughout the rental.

Do you offer boats from other owners?

Yes, more and more. Partner owners’ boats join this catalogue after we check their documents and insurance and visit them on board. You rent with the same guarantees and the same LOCVOILIER contract.

Can I rent a boat for an event or a company?

Yes: birthdays, hen and stag parties, seminars and team building take place on our catamarans and large classic yachts, with skipper and crew. For groups of more than twenty, we raft several boats together at anchor, with catering, drinks and entertainment on request. Tell us about your event: we suggest the right boats and a detailed quote.

Where do the boats leave from?

Most leave from Port Corbières, in L’Estaque, north of Marseille, with private and secure parking. Some boats are based in Cassis or on the Côte Bleue, and all can pick you up in Cassis or La Ciotat on quote.

I own a boat: can it appear here?

Yes. Fill in your boat’s form: after checking its documents and a visit, it joins the catalogue. You choose between full charter management by LOCVOILIER or managing the renters yourself.
