  2. 2

    You book online

A deposit paid by card or bank transfer secures the date. The balance is paid before the trip, and you receive all the practical details by email or WhatsApp.

  3. 3

The skipper welcomes you at Port Corbières, Cassis or La Ciotat, shows you around the boat and gives the safety briefing. There is a life jacket in every size.

You return at the agreed time, at sunset or at night with the lights of Marseille. All that is left is to share the photos.

Why LOCVOILIER

Sailors, not just a middleman

Since 2018Boat trips and hire from Marseille.
Professional skippersFully licensed, they know every cove and every shelter.
Our own fleetSailboats, catamarans, a trimaran and classic yachts maintained by us.
Three departure portsPort Corbières in L’Estaque, Cassis and La Ciotat.

LOCVOILIER was founded in 2018 at Port Corbières, at the northern entrance to the bay of Marseille, with a simple idea: to share the sea the way we live it ourselves, with well-kept boats and skippers who love passing on what they know. We are not a platform reselling trips from afar: our boats are moored at the pontoon, our team prepares them before every departure and welcomes you on the quay.

Our skippers are licensed professionals covered by professional liability insurance. They know the coast’s shelters in every wind, check the Météo-France forecasts before each trip and will not hesitate to move a date rather than take a risk. Safety equipment is checked regularly, in line with the regulations that apply to each boat.

We also work with trusted local partners: caterers for drinks and meals on board, sailmakers and mechanics to maintain the fleet, and the SNSM sea rescue station in La Ciotat, which we support. These high standards earn LOCVOILIER excellent reviews from families, friends and companies alike, many of whom come back season after season for another boat trip in Marseille.

With or without a skipper

Boat hire in Marseille: for a day or a cruise

With a skipper, no worries

Skippered boat hire in Marseille is the easiest way to enjoy the sea with no licence or experience. The professional skipper sails the boat, picks anchorages sheltered from the wind, looks after everyone’s safety and shares his knowledge of the coast. You can take the helm, trim a sail or simply enjoy the sun. For several days, he comes aboard with you for a cruise to Porquerolles, the French Riviera or Corsica.

Need a host or a chef on board? Our crew joins the skipper for stays and events.

Bareboat, for experienced sailors

Can you sail? Rent a sailboat or a catamaran without a skipper and go at your own pace. We review your sailing CV within 48 hours, then carry out the check-in, inventory and local area briefing with you. The security deposit is handled online as a card pre-authorisation, with no charge.

See all our boats, their capacity and prices on the boat hire in Marseille page, and our multi-day cruises on the weeks and stays page.

Your boat deserves to sail

Let us manage it: charters, skippers, maintenance and technical follow-up. You keep track of your bookings, costs and income; we take care of the rest.

All year round

When is the best time for a boat trip in Marseille?

May and June

The sea warms up, the days are long and the anchorages still quiet. The ideal time for a day at sea, a hen party or a team building event.

July and August

Peak season: warm water, a swim at every anchorage and sunsets around 9 pm. Book several weeks ahead, especially for weekends.

September and October

The sea is still warm, the light golden and the crowds gone. The best time for a sunset cruise or an evening at sea.

November to April

Shorter trips in fine weather, early sunsets and crystal-clear days after the mistral. The time to plan the summer and give a gift voucher.

Whatever the season, the skipper adapts your boat trip in Marseille to the day’s wind and sea. A trip can be moved by a few hours to catch a calmer window, or postponed free of charge if the weather does not allow safe sailing.

Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le professionnalisme de Pierre, aussi bien dans les échanges et la préparation en amont que le jour J. Tout était parfaitement coordonné et organisé, ce qui nous a permis de profiter pleinement de la journée. FAQ

Boat trip in Marseille: your questions

How much does a private boat trip in Marseille cost?

A private sailboat or catamaran with a skipper starts at €790 for a full day for the whole boat, all taxes included. Catamarans range from €1,490 (40 feet) to €2,590 (50 feet and over), and classic yachts start at €2,000. Short 2 to 4-hour trips, sunset cruises and evenings have their own prices.

How many people can come aboard?

For your comfort, allow 8 to 12 people on a sailboat, 12 to 20 on a catamaran depending on its size, and 10 to 30 on our classic yachts. For larger groups, we use several boats that meet up at anchor.

Where does a boat trip in Marseille depart from?

Most trips depart from Port Corbières in L’Estaque, which has private, secure parking. We also depart from Cassis and La Ciotat on request.

Do I need a boat licence?

No: on a boat trip in Marseille, a professional skipper is on board and handles the sailing. To rent a boat without a skipper, we ask for a sailing CV and the required certificates.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first on a boat trip in Marseille: the skipper decides whether it is safe to sail. If not, we find another date together, in line with our terms and conditions of sale.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp or request a quote: we reply with a proposal suited to your group. The booking is confirmed by a deposit, payable online by card.

What is the best boat trip in Marseille for a first time?

The sunset cruise, about three hours long, is ideal for discovering the sea without tiring yourself out: gentle sailing, a swim when the season allows and drinks at anchor facing the Château d’If. For a first full day, the Frioul islands and the Côte Bleue offer sheltered water and beautiful coves.

What is the difference between a sailboat and a catamaran?

A sailboat heels under sail and gives a real feeling of sailing, for 6 to 10 people. A catamaran, with its two hulls, stays level: more space, large sunbathing areas and trampolines, ideal for groups of up to 20 and families with children.

Can I rent a boat without a skipper in Marseille?

Yes, for experienced sailors: we review your sailing CV within 48 hours, then carry out the check-in, inventory and local area briefing with you. A security deposit is taken as a card pre-authorisation.

What should I bring on a boat trip?

Swimwear, a towel, sun cream, sunglasses, a cap and a sweatshirt for the way back. Everyone goes barefoot on board: bring shoes that will not mark the deck. Life jackets, paddleboards and snorkelling gear are provided.

Can children come?

Yes, children are very welcome, with life jackets in their size. The catamaran, stable and spacious, is particularly well suited to families.

Can we organise a corporate event at sea?

Yes: team building, seminars, client evenings or incentives, for a small team or a large group, with several boats if needed. We build a tailor-made programme with a regatta, lunch at anchor or a meeting on board.

Can I give a boat trip in Marseille as a gift?

Yes, with our gift vouchers from €89, valid for 12 months and extendable free of charge for 6 more: sunset, full day or evening at sea.

Do you offer multi-day cruises?

Yes, with or without a skipper, on a sailboat or a catamaran: a weekend at the Frioul islands, a week to Porquerolles and the French Riviera, or a crossing to Corsica.
