A day just for you

Full-day boat hire with a skipper in Marseille

A full day at sea means seven hours away from it all: you board in the morning at Port Corbières, in L’Estaque, and head for the turquoise coves of the Frioul islands or the wild calanques of the Côte Bleue. Swimming, paddleboarding, lunch at anchor, a nap on the trampoline nets: the skipper sails, you enjoy.

The boat is private to your group: no strangers on board, and a route chosen according to the wind and your wishes. The price is for the whole boat, not per person. The more of you there are, the more affordable the day becomes.

How to choose

Sailboat or catamaran: which one?

The sailboat

For those who want to really sail: sails up, the boat heeling, and the skipper hands you the helm. Ideal for couples, families or friends, up to 12.

The catamaran

For comfort and space: no heeling, large nets for sunbathing, a cockpit for lunch in the shade. Perfect with children or a group.

The classic yacht

For emotion and prestige: period boats, varnished wood and elegant lines. For a milestone birthday or a corporate event.

How it works

How a day at sea goes

  1. 10 h
Boarding at Port CorbièresWelcome in L’Estaque, with private, secure parking. The skipper shows you the boat, the safety briefing and the day’s route according to the wind.
  2. 10 h 30
SailingHead for the Frioul islands, the calanques of the Côte Bleue or the calanques of Marseille. Under sail or engine, depending on the boat and your mood.
  3. 11 h 30
First anchorage and swimAnchored in a turquoise cove: swimming, paddleboarding, mask and snorkel, sunbathing on deck.
  4. 13 h
Lunch at anchorThe caterer’s meal or your own, served in the shade of the cockpit, facing the cliffs.
  5. 15 h
Second coveThe skipper moves to another anchorage to show you a different setting, sheltered from the wind.
  6. 17 h
Back to portSailing back along the bay, arriving at Port Corbières where your car is waiting.

When to go

Which season for a day at sea in Marseille?

June to September: high season

The water is often above 22 °C, the days are long and you can swim for hours. This is the busiest period: book your day at sea several weeks ahead, especially for weekends in July and August.

May and October: our favourite months

The light is beautiful, the coves of the Frioul and the Côte Bleue are quieter, and in October the sea keeps some of the summer’s warmth. A day at sea at this time of year is often the best balance between weather and peace and quiet.

October to April: the sea to yourselves

Off season, full days are 20% cheaper. Swimming is for the brave, but the sailing is superb, the anchorages are empty and lunch in the sun in the cockpit is a real treat. The skipper keeps an eye on the marine weather and always chooses sheltered water.

Practical tips

What to bring for a full day at sea?

  • Swimsuit, towel and sunglasses: there is a swim at every anchorage.
  • Non-aerosol sunscreen, ideally with mineral filters, to protect the posidonia seagrass.
  • A cap and a sweatshirt: out at sea the sun is strong and the wind cools things down quickly at the end of the day.
  • A soft bag rather than a hard suitcase, and a waterproof pouch for your phone.
  • Your picnic and drinks, if you are not taking the caterer’s lunch: table and cool box are on board.

On board, everyone goes barefoot: leave your shoes in a bag when you board. Fins, masks, snorkels and a paddleboard are provided. All our other practical answers are in the boat trip FAQ and on our safety at sea page.

For every occasion

A day at sea for every occasion

With family

The very stable catamaran reassures children and grandparents alike. Swimming, paddleboarding and a picnic at anchor: a day you will talk about for a long time.

With friends

A sailboat to feel the sea, a catamaran for space: up to 20 people on the same boat, with music outside the National Park.

Birthday and hen or stag party

Cake at anchor, champagne, decorations: we prepare the surprise with you. See our birthday at sea and hen and stag party pages.

Corporate

Seminar, incentive or client thank-you: several boats sail together and meet up for lunch. See our team building at sea.

Whatever the occasion, the day is booked with a deposit, and the skipper adapts the programme to the group: more sailing for enthusiasts, more swimming and lazing about for those who simply want to enjoy the sea.

FAQ

Full-day boat trip: your questions

How much does a full-day boat trip in Marseille cost?

A private sailboat with skipper starts at €790 for the day, 10 am to 5 pm, for the whole boat. Catamarans range from €1,490 (40 ft) to €2,590 (50 ft and over), and classic yachts from €2,000 to €4,000. The price is for the boat, not per person. From October to April, every full day is 20% off.

What is included in the price?

The private boat, the professional skipper, fuel, the paddleboard, boarding and landing taxes, access to the private port of Port Corbières with secure parking, and safety equipment. Lunch is extra: caterer from €35 to €75 per person, drinks included, or your own meal.

What are the times for a day at sea?

Boarding at 10 am and return at 5 pm at Port Corbières, in L’Estaque. Want to stay out at sea longer? We put together a tailor-made extended day, on quotation.

How many people can come on board?

From 2 to 12 people on a sailboat, 2 to 20 on a catamaran depending on its size, and up to 25 on our largest classic yachts. For bigger groups, we use several boats that meet up at anchor.

Where do we go during the day?

The skipper chooses according to the wind: the Frioul islands and their turquoise coves, the wild calanques of the Côte Bleue, or the calanques of Marseille. When the mistral blows, there is always a sheltered anchorage.

Do I need a boating licence?

No, a professional skipper is on board and takes care of the sailing. If you wish, he will hand you the helm and show you how to trim the sails.

Can I hire a boat without a skipper for the day?

Yes, some of our boats can be hired without a skipper by experienced skippers, on presentation of a sailing CV and the required qualifications. Each boat page gives the price, deposit and conditions, such as the Océanis 473 sailboat.

Can we come with children?

Of course. The catamaran is ideal for families thanks to its stability. Life jackets suited to children are on board; just tell us their age and weight when you book.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety comes first: the skipper decides whether we can sail. If not, we offer you another date, in line with our terms and conditions of sale.

Can we leave from Cassis?

Yes, all our boats can leave from the port of Cassis or La Ciotat, for a supplement of €300. See also our page dedicated to boat trips from Cassis.

How do I book?

Message us on WhatsApp or ask for a quote with the date and the number of people. The booking is confirmed by a deposit, payable online by card.

Can we choose the route for the day?

Yes, within the limits of the day’s weather. Tell us what you would like (Frioul, Côte Bleue, calanques, snorkelling, beach): the skipper builds the programme with you and chooses the most sheltered anchorages according to the wind.

Is a day at sea suitable for a company outing?

Yes. For a team, several boats can leave together and meet up at anchor for lunch. See our team building at sea page in Marseille.

Can we extend the day until sunset?

Yes, on quotation: the extended day lets you enjoy drinks at sunset before returning to port. Mention it when you book so that we can arrange the skipper accordingly.

How much does a full-day boat trip cost off season?

From October to April, all our days at sea are 20% off: a full day on a private sailboat therefore comes to €632 for the whole group, skipper and fuel included.
